CREATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT NATIONAL INDICATORS

During the session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) in September 2015, in New York, Serbia will sign the document, with which will be obliged for the next 15 years to fulfill the goals of sustainable development, the most important - poverty eradication. Serbia would thus assume the obligation to fulfill the global objectives of sustainable development. On this occasion, in the crowded hall of the City of Nis, was organized a round table on the topic "The goals of sustainable development in Serbia", with the support of City Municipality of Palilula - Nis and Youth Council of the City of Nis, Serbia organized GIZ - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Regional program - Social protection and prevention of human trafficking in Serbia (SPPHT) in cooperation with the Association for Sexual and Reproductive Health of Serbia - SRHSerbia and the Office of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality.

Conference participants were welcomed by Boban Džunic, president of Palilula Municipality, who said that despite numerous differences in viewpoints, can not be denied to local communities the improvement in sustainable development.

"The existence of awareness itslef of this issue is a good enough start to work towards sustainable development-president Džunić stressed. Some local communities have already started with the development or have completed their own strategies. Some communities have set up a network whose aim is to help communities on the road to sustainable development, encourage and inform the general public about this issue and exchange experiences at national and international level. With the assistance of municipal support program IPA 2007 - Good local governance, planning and provision of services in Serbia, which is financed by the European Union and implemented by a consortium led by GIZ IS (international service), we in Palilula Municipality have got a developmental document, the Action Plan of Palilula Nis 2012-2016.

New Goals for Sustainable Development (CSD) are a group of targets of universal character that are of importance to all the countries and include 17 goals and 169 indicators. In the previous debate in Serbia, which included civil society organizations, government - local government, business sector, the creation of national indicators, point out the following objectives: economic growth and employment, reproductive health, human rights, gender equality and empowerment of women, the formation of values among young people.

At the round table in Nis "The goals of sustainable development in Serbia" spoke Dragan Stojanovic, Executive Director of the SRC Serbia and Stanislava Vidovic, GIZ Serbia - Regional Programme - Social protection and prevention of human trafficking in Serbia (SPPHT). Alexander Sremčev associate advocacy SRH Serbia, pointed to reproductive health and gender equality as a goal of sustainable development in Serbia. Senior Advisor, Office of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality Emila Spasojevic reminded that discrimination in our society is widespread and Adriana Anastasov, MP and president of the Youth Council of the City of Nis spoke about the "Council for Youth and the objective of sustainable development."
